The present study aimed at investigating the effectiveness of teaching a suggested unit in mathematics based on the strategy of the six hats and their effect on achievement and mathematical thinking among the students of the fifth grade in Sultante of Oman . The researcher used the experimental approach of the two equal groups. The study sample consisted of (60) students from Zeyad ben Almuhalb Primary school divided into two groups (30) students for the experimental group, and (30) students for the control group. The researcher prepared a teacher guide and student book based on the six thinking hats strategy. Then the researcher
prepared study tools :
- Achievement test.
- Mathematical Thinking Test.
The results of the study showed that there was a positive and effective effect on the use of the six thinking hats in increasing the level of achievement and the development of mathematical thinking among the experimental group.
