The study aims at exploring the students' self-esteem relation with motivation and academic achievement in Nizwa university. The sample of the study was (600) male and female students from master and bachelor departments. To collect the data, the study used two instruments: self-esteem scale for Rosenberg and motivation scale for Lepper, Corpus & Layenger.
The findings showed that there is a positive relationship between self esteem of the students and the internal motivation in general and with motivation's three dimensions: the challenge, curiosity and control. While there was not significant relation between self-esteem and the external motivation of the students. Also, the findings showed that there wasn't significant relation between self-esteem and student academic achievement.
In addition, the study showed that there is a positive relation between the internal motivation and student academic achievement. But the relation was negative with external motivation when the one increases the other decreases.
Moreover, the study revealed that self-esteem can contribute to anticipate the degree of the internal motivation. While the self-esteem cannot anticipate the external motivation. Also, the study showed that internal motivation can contribute to anticipate the student academic achievement. But two factors of external motivation can contribute negatively to the anticipation of student academic achievement.
