الملخص الإنجليزي
The aim of this study is to investigate the effectiveness of the use of interactive statistical program (Tinkerplots) in teaching of statistics on the achievement and statistical thinking among students of the eighth grade. The study sample consisted of 47 students from Khadija bint Khuwailid School, has been divided the study sample into two groups, the experimental group, included (26 students) and the control group included (21students), the experimental group studied statistics unit with (Tinkerplots) while the control group studied in the usual way. The study
found the following results: 1. There are differences of statistical significance, at the level of (0.05)
between the average of the degrees of experimental group students, and the average of the degrees of control group in the post achievement test, in favor of the experimental group.
2. There are differences of statistical significance, at the level of (0.05)
between the average of the degrees of experimental group students, and the average of the degrees of control group in the post statistical thinking test, in favor of the experimental group.
3. There are a positive correlation of statistical significance, at the level of
significance (0.05) between the achievement and the statistical thinking of eighth grade students.
The study recommends to support the integration of educational software in the mathematics curriculum in general and statistics in particular, and the adoption of the (Tinkerplots) program in teaching statistics unit in eighth grade, and train students to develop statistical thinking skills through activities in the daily lessons
