This study aimed to set a proposal to develop educational control in the Sultanate of Oman in light of some global experiences and in reference to the theories and international models of educational control. The study adopted descriptive approach and reviewed the analysis of similar international experiences in some Arab and non Arab countries.
The study collected data using a questionnaire with 6litems divided into six domains: administration and organization, control and audit objectives, principles of review and control of education, the criteria of appointing the members of educational control and audit Office, the stages of educational control and audit, and standards of educational control and review. Due to the fact that the study is based on the preparation for a future regime, it has used Delphi method that investigated the feedback of 35 experts.
The study concluded with the agreement rate to each domain of the study instrument as follows: administration and organization at (71.4 to 91.4%), control and audit objectives at (85.7 to 100%),principles of review and control of education at (77.1 to 100%), criteria of appointing the members of educational control and, laudit Office(71.4 to 97,1 ) the stages of educational control and audit, and standards of educational censorship and review at (74,1 to 97,1%),stages of educational control and audit, and standards of educational control and review at (91.4 to 100%). Moreover, some difficulties were manipulated and avoided. The study concluded with a proposal for developing control of education in the Sultanate of Oman.
