The purpose of this study is to identify job stress and their relationship with organizational commitment of post basic teachers in Muscat governorate.. To achieve the objectives of the study, Literature on job stress has been reviewed and a questionnaire consisting of 50 items has been prepared.
The sample in this study consisted of 106. The researcher followed the descriptive approach in order to study the relationship between the variables of the study. To analyze the data statistically, Computerized Statistical Package Program (SPSS.18) has been used.
The most important finding of the current study were the following:The job stress are moderately existing among Post Basic teachers. organizational commitment is moderately to highly existing among post basic teachers.
. The descending order of job stress as follows: role conflict, working conditions, role ambiguity, role burden and role appropriateness.. The descending order of organizational
follows: standard organizational commitment, organizational and emotional commitment, continuous organizational commitment.
The results showed no statistically significant differences to the job stress, depending on the variables of gender, age, years of experience, except for the third axis (appropriate role), and no statistically significant differences to the job stress in favor of males, as well as the existence of significant differences of organizational commitment depending on the variable type, in favor of females, and the absence of significant differences of organizational commitment.
Negative correlation and counterproductive between role conflict and organizational commitment, and the presence of a positive correlation between working conditions and organizational commitment relationship.
In light of this study, The activating the work in the school teams to limit the professional differences with some co-workers and encourage teacher training and self-development..
