Women have passed through ages of suppressing and discriminating them against men, yet acknowledging their dignity and rights internationally is linked with the establishment of United Nation in 1945. The UN'accord emphasized on the necessity to enforce human rights in general and women's rights in particular. The international community adopted many treaties pertained to women; such as, treaty of women' political rights, treaty of married woman' nationality, treaty of accepting marriage, minimum age for marriage and registering marriage contracts, inclusive treaty for women rights in 1979, and treaty to eliminate all forms of discrimination against woman (CEDAW). Moreover, the optional protocol attached to the treaty which aims to secure rights protection mechanisms included within. Although the treaty is inclusive for women' rights and clear/specific mechanisms, it was one the most controversial treaties that many of its parties stated political and cultural reservations. Therefore, this paper highlights most important rights women enjoy per CEDAW convention as it analytically discuss mechanism of protecting the convention's rights. Findings and recommendations are discussed in the conclusion of this paper.
