The present study, "Multiple-faceted Inflection and its Influence on Meaning: A Practical Study of Surat AnNissa", comprises an introduction, one preliminary chapter, three chapters and a conclusion. The introduction discusses the rationale for selecting the research topic, the aims of the study as well as the approaches adopted in achieving such aims. The preliminary chapter offers a definition of the term "Inflection" in language and among grammarians. It defines the multifaceted inflection which refers to the possibility of declension for one word or more in several ways. Chapter One deals with two-facet inflection and its influence on meaning in Surat AnNassa'. The chapter has two sections: two-facet inflection with constant declining root (no change in the word ending), and two facets of inflection with changeable declining root Chapter Two tackles cases that have more than two facets of inflection and their influence on meaning in Surat AnNassa'. The chapter has two sections the first section deals with cases that involve more than two facets of inflection with constant declining root (no change in the word ending). The second section discusses cases that involve more than two facets of inflection with changeable declining root. The researcher's approach in the two above-mentioned chapters involves mentioning the Qur'anic Verse first, identifying the place of the grammatical case in that verse, stating the multi-faceted inflection and then relating the multiple aspects of inflection to meaning. Chapter Three discusses the syntactic and semantic issues. It includes three sections: Section One tackles the aspects of the multi-faceted inflection in Surat AnNassa'. It explains fourteen aspects. The researcher tried to relate these aspects to the explanation of the reference books on Arabic Grammar using certain cases as examples. Section Two discusses the factors underlying the multi-faceted inflection in Surat AnNassa'. Section Three shows aspects of the multi-faceted inflection and their influence on the Juristic Rules in Surat AnNassa', The Section also shows that this Sura has many instances of multi-faceted orientation that influences the g. This fact enhances the strong relation between Inflection and meaning. The conclusion comes after the three chapters. It shows the findings that the researcher could obtain throughout the study. As an example we may cite some aspects of multiple inflection in Surat AnNassa', e.g., the definite noun after the particle "Ayyuha", the Vocative Particle qualifying a non-nominal, negated full Exception, and the noun of conditional "IN" when its predicate is full. Orientation of the sentence plays a n important role in understanding the juristic laws. It helps in explicating a given rule, to refer to two different rules using the various orientations of the Qur'anic verse, or to signify two juristic rules under two different circumstances. Finally, the study has a number of appendixes as well as indexes showing the verses of Surat AnNasaa' that were used in the study. They were classified according to their type. A list of references, that were consulted by the researcher in his work, is found at the end of the dissertation.
