This study aimed answering the following questions: 1. What is the reality of using computer in teaching Islamic education Cycle One education from the teachers' point of view? 2. What are the Obstacles of using computer in teaching Islamic education of basic education from the teachers! point of view? 3. Are there any statistical indicator differences between Muscat Governorate, Albatina North and Albatina South in using computer in teaching Islamic education? The sample of the study was consisted of (230) teachers who were teaching Islamic education in cycle one of basic education in Muscat Governorate, Albatina North and Albatina South for the academic year (2007/2008) with percentage of (10%) from the original community study., The researcher has formed questionnaire of two parts. The first part is to identify the reality of using computer in teaching Islamic Education from the teachers' point of view, while the second part is to identify the obstacles of using computer in teaching Islamic Education from the teachers' point of view as well. The study result have shown that the computer is largely used in organizing the Islamic education records. It is also sometimes used in preparing tests and assigning students with some activities that need using the computer. Further, it is used in limited way in presenting Islamic education contents using Power Point Programs, in addition to teaching the content of the subject using specific educational software. The main obstacles of using computer are: the huge educational burden for teachers, insufficient time to deal with computers, and lack of educational software for Islamic education at school. The study recommended many recommendations such as: joining Islamic Education curricula with recent educational techniques through computer and internet in learning resource centers and increasing its number at school as well.
