This study addresses the criminal judge authority in assessing evidence. It focuses on the extent of this power; is it absolute or limited with some restrictions? Moreover, it discusses the judicial certainty as a psychological state of mind that confirms the existence of the truth in us; however it can not be reached without the inference. It also addresses the restrictions faced by the criminal judge in assessing evidence either they were constitutional or Procedural. After that, it proceeds to discuss the practical side in assessing the anecdotal and technical evidences. Finally, this study spots some light on ensuring the objectivity of this authority through the review of judicial logic by the Supreme Court. Then, it concludes with findings and recommendations that aim at strengthening the criminal judge role in assessing evidence. This study relies on historical, analytical and descriptive methods according to a plan that consists of several themes so as to meet the aims for which this study has been undertaken.
