The study with the history of Bahrain between (469-636 A.H/ 1076 - 1238 A.D) covering the period of the rise of Uyunid Emirate. The importance of the study lies in the discussion of the political conditions in Bahrain in the Uyunid period. The study also highlights the external relations with the neighboring powers which contributed to the development of the Uyunid Emirate. The study also aims to investigate the civilization of Bahrain in the era of Uyunid and to highlight significant contributions of Uyunid in the fields of economics, architecture and culture. Finally, I believe the study will help to record the events of an Emirate that is completely neglected by historians. I also believe the study will offer a global perspective on the political and civilized history of Uyunid Emirate. The study depends on deductive and inductive tools of research which a wide range of texts were read and comprehended. Then, these texts were subsequently analyzed and interpreted in collaboration with other sciences of history and geography. The study is divided into an introduction, and three chapters besides the appendixes. The introduction deals with the geographical location of Bahrain and the percentage of Uyunid that time. It also summarizes the political history of Uyunid Emirate from rise to fall. Chapter one deals with the relations between Uyunid with the neighboring powers and the Arabic tribes like Bani Amer, and also with the rulers of the Arabian Gulf like rulers of Islands of Qais and Hurmuz. The chapter also highlights the relations of Uyunid Emirate with the Abbasid Caliphate, the Setjug Sultans and Oman. Chapter two discusses the nature of the Uyunid Emirate. In particular, the system of government and its great effect on the economic and social conditions. Chapter three tackles the subject of heritage, culture and architecture.
The study also contains several appendixes such as maps, pictures, diagrams and tables related to the topic under research. The most interesting findings of the study are: 1- There was great historical and geographical expansion of Uyunid Emirate. Geographically, it spreads from Bahrain, and Oman. Historically, the Uyunid Emirate lasted for more than century and a half one and its rulers were all Arabs belong to the famous tribe called Abdal-Qais 2- The Uyunid Emirate witnessed five basic phases in its political history and were characterized by their strength and power. 3- The Uyunid Emirate established friendly relations with some neighboring powers and were characterized very friendly with some people and aggressively with others. Such relations were strongly reflected upon the power of Uyunid Emirate. 4- The Uyunid Emirate was affected by the neighboring systems in the way they established their systems of government and administration. 5- The Uyunid Emirate witnessed great development economically and culturally at which many factors helped to achieve such progress. One factor was the great role played by Uyunid rulers in such fields. 6- The Uyunid devoted great care to their architecture and they left evidence that prove their civilization which exists to this day.
