This study aims to identify the general characteristics of foreign news coverage in two daily Omani English newspapers: Oman Daily Observer and Oman Tribune. The study deals with variables related to news in general and foreign news in particular. It presents an informative framework for the coverage of foreign news in the study sample. This study is descriptive in nature in which the researcher used content analysis to describe and analyze the content of foreign news in Oman Daily Observer and Oman Tribune. It uses 12 issues from each newspaper, over a span of one year (2012) as random sample from 01/01/2012 to 31/12/2012. Findings indicate that the two papers presented more foreign news in terms of space than local news. Political, economic and sports news dominated the foreign news coverage in daily Omani English newspapers. In terms of international issues, The study revealed that the "Global Financial Crisis" received the highest attention in terms of space allocated to international issues assigned by the study. The "Arab Spring" came second. The two newspapers allocated more space to foreign news coming from the Asia and then Europe. The study shows that the two papers rely mainly on international news agencies as a key source for foreign news coverage. It also indicates that Agence France-Presse (AFP) ranks first as a foreign news source for the two papers, followed by Reuters. Regarding news values, "conflict" topped all the values. Moreover, the positive news gained slightly more coverage than negative news.
