The current study aimed to investigate the level of locus of control among a sample of the 11th grade students in Muscat and South Batinah regions and to know how important the variables of achievement motivation, sex, specialization, geographical area, father's level of education, mother's level of education, and the economical level of the family. For that, a random sample was chosen which compromised of 624 students (male and female) from Muscat and South Batinah regions. It was applied on the study sample the scales of locus of control and achievement motivation aster assuring that reliability and validity were significant in the two scales. By using One-Sample T-Test, Multiple Regression Analysis and One Way ANOVA as statistical tools, it has been found that the locus of control medium among the sample was 12.21. This level indicates an internal locus of control, although it is not in the required level. The statistical findings of this study also revealed that the variables, which are critical in determining the level of locus of control among all independent variables in the study, are the variables of achievement motivation, father's level of education and sex, although their effect in general was insignificant for which F= 10.21. Furthermore, the results indicated that there is no statistical significant difference in the locus of control medium between the two sexes. In addition it was noticed that as the father's level of education and achievement motivation became higher, the student experienced more internal locus of control. Several recommendations and suggestions were forwarded, most importantly, emphasizing to pay attention to enhancing the responsibility awareness among the students and giving them independence and security because they are very important factors to improve the internal łocus of control among the students.
