The aim of this study was to identify the level of mental health in a sample of beneficiaries and non-beneficiaries of wel fare in the governorate of Mahut in light of some variables sample. The study consisted of three categories (250) (100) of the workers and (100) of the job seekers. In order to answer the questions of the study, the researcher used the mental health scale by Ware & Veit (1998). The study followed the descriptive method.
The study found that the level of mental health of the beneficiaries of wel fare was moderate, while the level of mental health of the non-beneficiaries of the wel fare (ie workers) was low, while the mental health level of non-beneficiaries of wel fare (job seekers) was average, And the existence of statistically significant differences between wel fare beneficiaries and non-beneficiaries of wel fare in all dimensions of the mental health scale and the total sum of the scale, and was in favor of beneficiaries of wel fare in the dimension of personal happiness and total mental health, S profile in favor of non - beneficiaries of wel fare (employees).
The study also showed no statistically significant differences at the level of significance of α 0.05 in the level of dimensions of the mental health scale of the wel fare beneficiaries in the variables of gender, social status, age and educational level, except the variable number of family members who showed differences after psychological distress, Total for family members (7 and above).
The study showed that there were statistically significant differences at the level of significance of α 0.05 in the personal and total number of scales in the social status variable in favor of the marital status (married) and the variable of age in favor of the category (20-27), the variable level of education in the dimension of personal happiness in favor of (read and write), while the psychological distress was for the benefit of the university, the total mental health was in favor of the educational level (general diploma), and for the variables of gender and the number of family members It showed no significant differences in Mental Health Scale.
The results showed no statistically significant differences in mental health according to the variables of gender, age, educational level and number of family members, and there were significant statistical differences in mental health according to one variable only, the social status variable which showed statistically significant differences in psychological distress. While the total mental health was in favor of the social situation (absolute).
