The application of imprisonment alternatives has a very important impact to the individual person and to the community, due to the several alternatives provided through this system which give convicts an opportunity to evaluate, repair and rectify themselves rather than delve deeper in crime world.
The main purpose of application of imprisonment alternatives is to avoid the disadvantages of imprisonment through the repair and rehabilitation with the purpose of achieving justice and applying punishment in both the public and private deterrence.
Therefore, this study seek through the methodology of description and analysis and comparison to clarify the most important alternatives of imprisonment, which going to cover, alternatives punishment before execution of the judgment, and during the execution of the judgment, and alternatives which has the financial character, And applications of alternatives in the communities.
The aim of putting these four sections of imprisonment alternatives is to provide legislative solutions to combat rising of crime rates, high rates of return ratios, and overcrowding of correctional institutions.
To conclude with the content of this study, we are call upon the Arab legislation to give more attention to the imprisonment alternatives.
