Magneto-optical kerr microscope for magnetic materials characterization.

Magnetic materials are widely used in our life and could be seen in many applications. It is thus important to have a deep understanding of their intrinsic properties. The Kerr effect originating from a rotation of a polarized incident light when it is reflected from the surface of a magnetic material provides useful information on the material. In this project, magneto-optic Kerr microscope is constructed and tested on magnetic materials. The setup was developed to provide both magnetic domains configuration and magnetization reversal in microscopic scale.
