الملخص الإنجليزي
The target of the current study is to know the role of the intellectual in the social changing in the Omani society and the nature of this role , trying to describe the perceptive of the intellectual regarding the cultural and the social cases in the society, exploring the impact of the intellectuals in the social awareness and the public opinion in the Omani society and discovering the obstacles that encounter the literates in playing their roles in making the changes in the society in order to reach to suggestions to improve their roles. The researcher has conducted the descriptive pattern using the social survey conducting a questionnaire targeting the audience frequently visiting the club and participating in its activities and meeting a group of intellectuals affiliate the cultural club and the participants in presenting the programs and the cultural nights.
The study has reached to many results and the most important once are:
- The study has pointed to the existence of a good role of the intellectual in creating the change inside the society whether directly in that he she is one of the decision makers in the society or indirectly as being an effective person among people. Most of those who participated in the research has affirmed the importance of the literate in carrying out his her role toward the society and the importance of his striving to achieve the social and intellectual reform and the social awareness.
- The intellectual has a role toward the crisis of that the society goes through and that through being in consistence with the change happens in reality through the cultural product he\she works on and participating in spreading the awareness and the constructive values.
- The results has also shown that the intellectual playing a role in enlightening the society, supporting the positive concepts and encouraging the constructive behaviors by being the idol of the educated person to many people and through having the skill of elocution that helps him her in attracting others to his opinions and different ideas. The study has also shown that the most significant obstacles that encounter the literate in limiting his role in social change is the gap between the literates and the formal institutions concerned in the cultural affair in the society.
