The study aimed at revealing " the reality of employing Strategic
Information System for the Labor Market in College of Applied Sciences
and Higher Colleges of Technology in the Sultanate of Oman, from the
standpoint of college Deans, Assistant college Deans and HOD in this
educational institution, In addition to revealing the differences between the
responses of the sample members regarding the reality of strategic
information systems for the labor market in the colleges of applied sciences
and the higher technical colleges in the Sultanate of Oman, according to the
variables (experience, job, and educational governorate).
The study used the Descriptive Approach and a questionnaire was
developed to collect data for the study. The questionnaire had (31) items
covering three hubs: inputs of Strategic Information System, operations of
SIS and outputs of SIS for the Labor Market in educational institution.
The study used a sample of (101) college deans, assistant of college deans
and HOD.
By using appropriate statistical tests, results of the study showed that the
institutions of higher education still need more efforts to integrate with
them a system of strategic information systems for the labor market and the
higher deportments in the these institutions exercises the process of
planning strategic information with a medium degree and not in integrated
manner. The estimates of the sample members on the reality of employing
strategic information systems for the labor market in the colleges of applied
sciences and the higher technical colleges have a medium degree in all axes

and the total as well, and that there are statistically significant differences at
the level of statistical significance (a≤0.05) in the estimates of the sample
individuals about the reality of employing systems The strategic
information of the labor market in the colleges of applied sciences and the
higher technical colleges in the Sultanate of Oman is due to the variable
years of experience in all axes and the tool as a whole, as there are no
statistically significant differences attributed to the variables of the
educational province and the job in the estimates of the sample individuals
about the reality of employing strategic information systems for the labor
market in colleges Applied sciences and higher technical colleges in the
Sultanate of Oman.
Accordingly, the study mode some recommendations including:
standardizing the methodology of the strategic information systems
planning process for the labor market among higher education institutions
and the necessity to discuss plan to develop SIS's continuously and give
them priority when formulating the strategy for these institutions.
