This study aimed at investigating the level of stress and life style among diabetic patients and healthy people according to the variables (gender, age, qualifications, living place, social status, income level, having the disease, and type of diabetes). Therefore, a sample of (276)patients with diabetes, and (334) healthy Oman citizens in a Dakhlyia region were randomly chosen from Bahla Hospital, Nizwa polyclinic, Al-Hamra health center and from society. Two types of tools were used in this study, psychological stress scale, and lifestyle scale. The results showed that stress and lifestyle were at the average. In relation to the difference between the average of the moderate levels, they come in favoure of females, illiterates, people with income less than200OR, people with diabetes, those who depend on insulin, unemployed and those who look for a job. In relation to the difference between the type of lifestyle, the differences came in favoure of males, people under 35 years old, literates. Those with an income between 200 OR, and 300 OR, those who live in the urban, those who are non diabetic, those who are non insulin dependent, and those who work in offices.
The results showed also significant differences for lifestyle and psychological stress in average for all variables for patients compared to healthy people of the study sample at level of (a ≤ 0.05), there are no significant differences in the average of lifestyle and psychological stress levels according to the social status and living place variables.
