The study aims to explore the relationship between mental health and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) among (113) divorced women in a number of governorates in the Sultanate of Oman via an online questionnaire. A relational descriptive approach has been applied to achieve the objectives of the study. In addition, two scales have been applied: First is the Symptoms Checklist Revised (SCL-90-R) that assesses a number of dimensions (physical symptoms, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), interactive sensitivity, depression, anxiety, hostility, phobia, paranoia, psychos). The second scale is Davidson Trauma scale (DSM-IV) which assesses three clusters: intrusion, avoidance, and hyper arousal. The results showed a mediated level in all the dimensions of mental health except OCD which had a higher level. The symptoms of the clusters of Davidson trauma scale were generally average for the study sample in its three clusters, and there have been strong connection between the two variables of the study. Additionally, the study has shown statistically significance differences in the physical symptoms dimension due to the age variable in favor of the divorced women who belongs to the age group (36-40). However, there have been no differences in the other dimensions due to the age variable. The results have not indicated any statically significance for the PTSD symptoms due to the age variable. The results of regression model has explained (56.5%) of the discrepancy of PSTD. The study concluded that mental health plays a role in predicting PTSD among divorced women.
