The Effect of using online learning for career awareness program on learners' achievement and engagement.

Online Instruction has been a popular approach in the educational field for the last 10 years.
Adopting such an instructional approach can make a good subject for research. The purpose
of this research was to study the effects of using online instruction for the Career Awareness
Program (CAP) on learner achievement and learner engagement. The sample of the study
was 150 students who are in the CAP course at Sultan Qaboos University (SQU). CAP is
provided by the Center for Career Guidance (CCG) at SQU. CAP consisted of five main
topics. The focus of this research is the first topic of CAP which is "Career Guidance". This
research followed an experimental research design using one-group pre-test post-test design
and learner engagement survey. The main findings showed that there was a moderate positive
effect on learner achievement and a significant positive effect on learner engagement. This
study concluded that online instruction would be a possible alternative for traditional face to
face instruction for CAP in SQU
