This research is studying the woman image in the Omani novel with some selective modals from Omani novels. The researcher intended to find out the woman image from these novels either it was described by a woman or a man. She divided her study in a theoretical introduction, three chapters and a conclusion.
The theoretical introduction presented a brief but focused description of the woman image in the novel and its features. Also, she widely analyses the image of the woman through focusing on its importance in the literary work generally and the novelist work specifically. Also the study considered the approach which has been followed in studying it.
In the first chapter the study talked widely about the author and his role in framing the woman image regarding some points like the narration, the dialogue, the description and the author perspective as he investigating from the inside and outside of the story.
The researcher talked about these elements first in a theoretical from and then she tried to apply these elements in the novels which have been studied and chosen as a study sample.
In the second chapter the researcher talked about the element of the narrative image. She started also this chapter with a theoretical introduction about the importance of the narrative image and its definition in the critical curriculum and in the study. Moreover, the study discussed the elements of the image such as the metaphor, similes, symbols and myth. This image has been studied in application from through the novels in the study.
Finally, in the third chapter it look in consideration men and women writing in order to notice some similar and different features for the writing of different genders and the complexes occurred from both of them.
Also, the study discussed finding out the different woman images such as the "wanted" woman and the "rejected" woman. Also the relations between the woman in one side and with the man, society and land in the
other side in an implementer frame.
