The study aims to determine the degree of availability of strategic vigilance indicators, and risk management practices in the Ministry of Education in the Sultanate of Oman. It also aims to study the relationship between strategic vigilance indicators and risk management practices.
A descriptive approach is used, and a quantitative method was utilized through a questionnaire consisting of two sections; strategic vigilance indicators section which includes four dimensions: technological vigilance, competitive vigilance, environmental vigilance, and organizational vigilance, and risk management practices section which includes four dimensions: identification and analysis, assessment, response and treatment, and follow up and improvement.
Data was collected from all population members and it was gathered from a total of 367 concerned employees in the Ministry of Education working in three categories: senior management positions, executive management positions, consulting and technical positions.
The study results show that there is an average level of availability of the strategic vigilance indicators and risk management practices in the Ministry of Education. The results also show that there is a positive, strong, and direct correlation between strategic vigilance indicators and risk management practices.
