This study aimed to detect the level of psychological stress and its relationship with job satisfaction among kindergarten teachers in Al Buraimi, Al Dhahirah and Al Dakhiliya governorates in the Sultanate of Oman. The sample consisted of 202 kindergarten teachers from the three governorates (Al Buraimi, Al Dhahirah and Al Dakhliyah). Study use the Psychological Stress Scale which was prepared by the researcher Omaima Kamel, 2007. The other scale was the job satisfaction scale which was prepared by the researcher Zakaria Wahba, 2016. The researcher made sure of the validity and reliability of these tools.
The results indicated that the stress that found among trachers was stress about educational methods; which have the highest average, followed by the nature of the profession, then the parents, and the tendency towards the profession. While the dimension of job satisfaction arrange as the fowllowing: the social relations inside and outside the kindergarten, followed by the nature of work, then the dimension of professional development, and the last one was the financial motivation.
The results also indicated that there are no statistically significant differences in the level of psychological stress among kindergarten teachers according to the years of work. And ther is no statistically significant differences in job satisfaction due to the years of work in all dimensions of the scale except in the dimension of social relations inside and outside kindergarten.
The results also found that there is a statistically significant negative correlation between psychological stress and job satisfaction in kindergarten teachers; which means that any increase in psychological stress lead to decrease in job satisfaction.
The study also found that the dimensions of psychological stress combined contributed to predict a decrease in the degree of job satisfaction of kindergarten teachers with an explanatory capacity (39.9%); (Which is negative in (educational dimension, school management dimension) to their contribution to low job satisfaction.
