The current study aimed to investigate the effect of using Goconqr program in the light of mastery learning in the biology subject (biomolecules unit) on developing health awareness for female ninth graders in Al-Dhahira Governorate. The researcher used the quasi-experimental design, and where the study sample consisted of (64) female students of the ninth grade at Ibri School for Basic Education (5-9), equally divided into two experimental and control groups. The experimental group was taught using the Goconqr program, while the control group was taught the same unit using the usual method.
To achieve the goal of the study, the researcher prepared two guides, a brochure of training activities and assessment tests. The first guide is for the teacher, the aim of which is to clarify how to teach the topics of the "Biomolecules" unit according to the Goconqr program in the light of mastery learning, and while the second guide is indicative showing how to use the Goconqr program. As for the brochure of training activities and assessment tests, it contains various questions for activities and tests that the student performs. The researcher verified the validity of the guides and the brochure of training activities and assessment tests by presenting them to a group of experienced and specialized arbitrators.
In order to answer the questions of the study and verify its hypotheses, the researcher prepared an analysis card for the content of the biomolecules unit to extract the information contained therein for the fields of the dimensions of health awareness. It also prepared a scale of health awareness, where its validity and reliability were verified using appropriate statistical methods.
After applying the tools to the sample, the results of the study indicated a decrease in the percentage of health awareness information in most of the subjects included in the biomolecular unit by less than 80%. The results also showed that there were statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the experimental group female students and the scores of the control group in the post of the health awareness scale, in favor of the experimental group female students. The results also clarified that there were statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the experimental group female students who studied through the Goconqr program in the light of mastery leartising in the pre and post applications of the health awareness scale, in favor of the post application.
In light of the previous results, the study recommended a set of relevant recommendations and suggested a set of similar studies.
