The aim of this paper was to study the anxiety levels and its relationship with social phobias among the teenagers in Sultanate of Oman. The study population includes all students of grades 8, 9, 10 and I'l in Al- Dakhilyyah Region Sultanate of Oman for the year 2009/2010. The study sample included of 469 students who were randomly selected out of the all students of grades 8, 9, 10 and 11 in Al-Dakhilyyah Region Sultanate of Oman for the year 2009/2010. The student ages varied from 13 to 18 years and 253 of them were male while 217 were female. The two criteria of anxiety and social phobias were implemented by the researcher for this study. The results showed a low level of anxiety among the students and a difference in the anxiety levels within the females due to the variable of the social kind while no difference in the
anxiety levels was observed within the males due to the age variable. As for the social phobia criteria, the results showed another difference in the anxiety levels within the females due to the variable of the social kind while no difference in the anxiety levels was observed within the males due to the age variable.
In addition, the relationship between the anxiety and the social phobia was found to be directly proportional and the correlation coefficient value of the anxiety level as a hole and the social phobia level was found to be 0.0541 which an average value with a statistical significance at a=0.05. This indicates that the more the anxiety level of the students, the more the more they have social phobia.
The results indicated as well that the ability of predicting a social phobia is possible by knowing the anxiety level. The sample regression showed that the the anxiety level affects the social phobia level by 23.3%3%.
