The aim of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of a bibliotherapy program on reducing test anxiety and enhancing adjustment for students of grade 10 in Al-Hasn Bin Ali School for basic Education. To achieve this goal Al- Dahadha & Suliman (2008) test anxiety scale was applied, and Suliman (1996) adjustment scale was also applied. Validity and reliability accreditation standards were done in the Omani environment. Then, the scale was seen by some professionals in this field. On the other hand, reliability was done by re- test, which was (0.81%) for test anxiety scale and (0.78%) for adjustment scale. The scale was applied on all the study population (N= 186) students, then 60 students were chosen; those students got the highest grades on the test anxiety scale and the lowest grades on the adjustment scale. After that, the students were divided randomly into (2) groups. The experimental group (N=30) students, were trained on the bibliotherapy program by explaining how to use the reading/counseling manual provided for (3) sessions for (45) minutes and by practicing reading the manual for (1) month, While the control group (N= 30) students, didn't get any kind of bibliotherapy programs.
The results of the (ANCOVA) and (Mann- Whitney) tests show that there are effects of bibliotherapy program in alleviating test anxiety and enhancing of adjustment among experimental group at the level of (a=0.05)compared with the control group, for the post- test measurement. Also, The results of the T-tests show that there was an effect of the bibliotherapy program in alleviating test anxiety and enhancing of adjustment among experimental group at the level of (a=0.05) when compared with the control group, for the follow-up- measurement. This means that there is a reduction in the level of the test anxiety and enhancement of adjustment among experimental group after(1) month from the pre-test. Discussion and
