This study aimed at identifying the empowerment of Omani women in the
political field in the Sultanate of Oman, identifying Omani women's status,
as well, within the Omani society from a political point of view, and
identifying the political level of Omani woman empowerment in its different
dimensions. The researcher used the descriptive analytical approach through
distributing questionnaire to collect the study data. Population of the study
focused on Sultanate of Oman's ministries. The study was conducted on the
Ministry of Housing, where the population of the study consisted of (3040)
male and female employees, and a simple random sample consisting of (172)
employees was chosen at the Ministry of Housing. The number of
questionnaires used in the study reached (144) questionnaires.
The results of the study showed the following findings:
● There is a positive correlation between increasing the effectiveness of
empowering women in electoral councils in political life and societal
development.
● There is a strong correlation between the political empowerment of women
and the need to integrate them into the labor market and economic
participation.
● There is an inverse correlation between the increasing obstacles that women
may face while carrying out their work and dealing with negative problems
and phenomena that concern members of society.
The study suggested a number of recommendations. Which are:
● Educating media professionals about the importance of strengthening
women's participation in politics and valuing the efforts made in this regard.
● It is necessary to justify women by involving them in political and social
decision-making. This requires establishing a rational perception about the
effects of political participation psychologically on women, and then relying
on international agreements that seek to create gender equality.
● Establishing organizations and associations to empower women's political
role and consolidate their rights and gains.
