The study aimed to develop a proposal of training program for the specialists of school activities in Sultanate of Oman in according to their training needs. For that purpose, it has been prepared a questionnaire consisting of (50)items focused on five domains which represent the training needs of school activities specialists. It has been verified the reality of the list (ratified arbitrators) and stability ( coefficient level, a = 97). The questionnaire was applied on (500) specialist school activities. However, (355) of them has been retrieved. An SPSS program was used to confirm the averages, standard deviations and the relative importance of all paragraphs. The results showed that (44) of the items included in the questionnaire were distributed on five axis domains; (personal skills to work, planning, organization, implementation, monitoring and evaluation) clarifies the strong need to attend a training program for specialist of school activities. These needs varies between great and average needs. The paragraphs have got 3 or above of the averages, but it has been excluded items that received less than average of 3. Also, results showed no statistically significant differences between the responses of members of the study samples due to the variables of the study of gender,
academic qualification and years of work experience.
The study concluded a set of recommendations which are:
1. The Directorate-General for Human Resources Development in the Ministry of Education has to adopt the proposed program and work to come up with its plans in professional development for the specialists of school activities.
2. It should be taken on concentration the
importance of training the specialists of school activities to keep pace with developments in education.
3. the specialists of school activities have to develop
themselves through reading and updating
themselves with new things in the educational field, and the results of the studies and scientific research in this area.
4. Activating the use of global information network (Internet) and its use in follow-up developments in education.
5. Involving specialists of school activities in identifying their training needs and the actual
selection of quality programs for them according to their needs.
