الملخص الإنجليزي
This study aimed to build a Group Counseling program and to investigate its collective effectiveness. The program is to reduce the violent behavior among juvenile delinquents in the sultanate of Oman. The study community consist of embodies (38) juvenile
delinquents. The study was carried out by using ( 24 ) male samples, aged between ( 12 to 18 years) of juvenile offender sentenced to the central state prison in Somali. Experimental approach was used in the study and the samples were distributed into two groups. Each group consisted of ( 12 ) samples and only one group had been exposed to the experimental approach (called experimental group). The experimental approach was a guidance program which is based on the collective social theory "Pandora".
Around (18) demonstration meetings were held with the experimental group to practice a set of social skills for around two months. The second group (control group) had not been involved in the experimental method. Pre and post statistical measurements had been taken for both groups using violent scale. This violent scale had been created specifically for this study and pre-investigation had been applied to the scale to find its sincerity and consistency.
The results of Mann-Whitney (U) showed very significant statistical difference, in the level of a ≤ 0.05, between the experimental and control groups. The difference was in favor to the experimental group. These results prove the effectiveness of the guidance program used in the study.
Also, the results showed that there was a reduction in the violent behavior of the experimental group after one month of the end of the program.
