The research is an attempt to present color as an aesthetic aspect in the Omani poetry seeking its contextual meanings and rhetorical structures. Thus this study consists of the following:
1- Introduction
Throughout this section the researcher explains the importance of the research topic, the trend followed to process the phenomenon, the research methodology, objectives and problems highlighting the method followed by the researcher to tackle the study sections.
2- Preface/Title: "Color in the Omani Culture"
In this section the researcher tries to define the concept of culture within the research context and to project the main sources affecting the poet in engaging color in poetry focusing on the concepts spread by color. Sources are Islamic sources, namely Quran and prophet sayings, Omani nature and Omani heritage.
3- Chapter One / Title: "Artistic Image in the Critical and
Rhetorical Studies"
The researcher considers this section as the theoretical part of the research wherein he deals with artistic image matters through identifying its meaning, indicating its importance and defining the term color image and literary trends (classic-romantic – realistic) as well as exhibiting the characteristics of each trend and elucidating the color importance and status in the modern poetic
image.
4- Chapter Two / Title: "Color Meanings in the Omani Poetry"
This is the practical section of the research. It deals with the application of color in the Omani poetry through studying the classical, romantic and realistic images, manifesting the implications of cool, neutral and warm colors in the poetic context and mentioning the color phenomena inferred from this
application.
5- Chapter Three / Title: "Meanings of the Rhetorical Forms of the Color Image"
This is the technical section of the study wherein the researcher processes some rhetorical forms used to express the color image such as simile, metaphor and metonymy, the implications and the aspects of composing this application. This makes it clear that color is a technical tool able to present the desired meaning as it forms an effective focal point in the texture of poetic image.
6- Conclusion
In this section the researcher accumulates the notes and conclusions emanated in the chapters emphasizing the color image
in the modern Omani Poetry.
