The study aims to explore the correlation between parenting style and anxiety. Besides, it intends to determine the most common
parenting style in a sample of pupils. Another aim is to investigate the influence of 'sex' factor on the parenting style and anxiety. The study sample consisted of (331) students were selected randomly, They are students who live with both parents. The researcher used two measures: a measure of parental treatment as perceived by children (prepared by Elhamy Abdul
Aziz Imam) and the measure of anxiety (prepared by Fahad Al Dulaim). The researcher identified true content of the two
measures in a manner of arbitration and internal consistency. Pearson correlation for paternal treatment was (0.111) to (0.786) (p< 0.01), and for the maternal treatment it was (0.109) to (0.850) (p< 0.05). The reliability of the measures was ascertained using a
sample of 30 pupils. The correlation of paternal treatment was (0.668) to (0.781) (p<0.01) and that of the maternal treatment was (0.490) to (0.748) (p<0.01). Additionally, coefficient alpha was statistically significant for both paternal (0.648 -0.729) and maternal (0.658 - 0.755) treatment. Both the validity (0.109 -0.524, p< 0.01) and
reliability (0.92) of the Anxiety Inventory were significantly high. The researcher used several statistical methods: the averages and standard deviations, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and t-test.
The results of this study are as follows: that the prevailing method in the treatment of the father of the sons is a method
(independence), while the prevailing method in the treatment of the father is a method for females (acceptance). That the prevailing method in the treatment of the mother to her children is a male method (independence), while the prevailing method in the treatment of the mother is a method for females (acceptance).
A correlation between the methods of treatment of the father of sons and anxiety of the study sample for the method (volatility - consistency), while no correlation function between the rest of the methods as well as the total score and anxiety for the treatment of the father of the boys. There is also a correlation between the
methods of treatment of the father of the girls and anxiety among a sample study for the methods (oscillation -consistency) and (discrimination - equality) and also for (total score), while no correlation function between the two methods (dependence - independence) and (rejection - acceptance) and concern for the treatment of the father of the boys. A correlation between the methods of treatment of the mother of the sons and anxiety of the study sample for the method (volatility - consistency), while no correlation function between the rest of the methods as well as the total score
and anxiety for the treatment of the mother of the boys. A correlation between the methods of treatment of the mother for
females and anxiety among a sample for the study method (volatility - consistency), and also for the (to:al score). The study also revealed.
