Sport competition regarded as an essential component of regular sports. The purpose of this study was to investigate the association between psychological hardness and sporting achievement motivation among young Omani national teams. Allawi and Khalil (2008) provided the Arabic translation of the Goldberg (2006) approach used in the study. In addition, the research made use of the revised Arabic version of the Sports Achievement Motivation factors (originally developed by Gwillis), translated and developed by Allawi in 1998. The sample consisted of 110 youth national team players from a variety of sports, including football, basketball, athletes, volleyball, table tennis, chess, and cycling. Regardless of the sport type, players in Oman demonstrated a high level of psychological hardness. While sport achievement motivation was higher than the motivation to avoid failure. The study revealed that the type of practice (individual versus group) had no effect on psychological hardness or sport achievement motivation. Furthermore, psychological hardness was poorly correlated with sport achievement motivation, but negatively correlated with the motivation of avoid failure. According to the findings of the study, the players on Oman's youth national team were 21% more motivated to fulfill their sporting goals as a consequence of the enhanced psychological hardness. Accordingly, the findings of this research recommend enhancing the psychological hardness of Oman's youth national teams.
