This descriptive research aimed at identifying the role of p lay
in the improvement of academic and social skills of pupils with
learning disabilities from the perspectives of their female teachers.
The sample included 144 female teachers from different
governorates in the Sultanate of Oman, who responded to the
study tool. The research tool involved 34 items that were
distributed on the two axes of academic and social skills. The
findings revealed that play highly contributed to improving the
academic and social skills of the pupils with learning disabilities
according to the female teachers' estimations. In addition, the
results revealed that there were no statistically significant
differences attributed to the variables; academic qualifications,
specialization, and teaching experience. The study recommended
the necessity to provide support to the female teachers of the
learning disabilities program.
