The study deals with the position of the Sultanate of Oman on the
Palestinian issue in the historical period between 1970-2003 AD. In this study,
the researcher relied on the historical, descriptive and analytical method. To
achieve the objectives of the study, this approach relies on research and
investigation of historical facts, scrutinizing and analyzing them, leading to
highlighting the facts related to the subject of the study, acquainting themselves
with the various sources, Arab and foreign documents, and recent studies,
personal interviews and extracting information after their interview with each
other .
The study was divided into an introduction, four chapters and a
conclusion. The introduction dealt with "the constants, foundations, features,
and nature of Omani foreign policy", highlighting the most important constants,
features, and nature of Omani policy in: The Gulf circle, the Palestinian circle,
the Arab circle, the regional and Islamic circle, and the international circle and
explaining the role of Sultan Qaboos in Guiding Omani policy.
On the other hand, the second chapter dealt with the position of the
Sultanate of Oman on the Palestinian issue between 1970-1980 AD. The third
chapter reviewed the position of the Sultanate of Oman on the Palestinian issue
between 1980-1990 AD. The fourth chapter focused on the position of the
Sultanate of Oman on the Palestinian issue between 1990-2003 AD.
The study reached a number of results, the most important of which is
that the Omani foreign policy was characterized by calm, frankness and clarity
in dealing with others and the study revealed that the Sultanate, the government
and people, provided economic and political support to the Palestinian cause in
its various historical stages.
