Settlement of Disputes is considered as one of the most important goals that World Trade
Organization established for, since all disputes arising between member countries are subject to
settlement in accordance with the rules and procedures mentioned in the agreements, in addition
to the liberalization of global trade with regard to goods, services, and intellectual property rights,
through several basic principles such as ,the principle of non-discrimination between foreign and
national goods, such as offering any advantage or preference on a member state in favor of
another country with regard to imported goods, with the exception of exempting regional
economic blocs from applying this principle, another principle is the principle of national treatment
which means not to deal with foreign goods after they cross national borders, pay the customs
charges, and enter the local market. Government purchases are excluded from the application
of this principle in the event that the purpose is not to put them on the local market in addition to
the previous principles, there is the principle of the rule of not referring to quantitative restrictions
in trade, other than customs duties and other taxes imposed on import and export, this aims to
ensure indirect protection for the local
product.
The countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council have endeavored to facilitate international
trade by adhering to all applicable rules and regulations in accordance to the organization's
accession protocol, and reviewing legislation and legal systems in line with the requirements of
the World Trade Organization, and this is evidenced by the establishment a directorate with the
name of "World Trade Organization Directorate", and "Trade International in Practices Injurious
Anti for Secretariat Technical of Bureau-GCC", under "The Economic Development and Affairs
Sections", this aims to manage the trade system, trade negotiations, and countering harmful
practices.
The researcher concluded a number of conclusions, importantly that the countries of the Gulf
Cooperation Council enjoy full membership in the World Trade Organization, which has resulted
in a set of obligations and privileges within the framework of the World Trade Organization, and
the diplomatic methods that are resorted to after the parties' agreement are among the most
important means of settlement to resolve disputes, which creates a kind of parity between
developing and developed countries the fact that resorting to it comes from the agreement and
consent of the parties
