The current study aimed to reveal the reality of the school
administration's use of social media in order to support the educational
process from the point of view of teachers and principals of basic
education schools in the Sultanate of Oman, and to reveal the presence of
statistically significant differences in the degree of school administration's
use of social media in order to support the educational process in schools
Basic education in the Muscat Governorate in the Sultanate of Oman is
attributed to the job title variable, the number of years of experience, and
the level of skill in using technological applications. Sultanate of Oman,
and proposed mechanisms to activate the role of the school administration
in the use of social media in the educational process in basic education
schools in the Sultanate of Oman. The current study followed the
descriptive survey method, and used a questionnaire, which was applied
to (370) principals, assistant principals, and teachers of basic education
schools in Muscat Governorate.
The results of the current study concluded that the reality of the school
administration's use of social media in order to support the educational
process from the point of view of principals, assistants, first teachers and
teachers of basic education schools in Muscat Governorate in the
Sultanate of Oman was high, and the study revealed that there were
statistically significant differences in the responses of the study sample.
The degree of the school administration's use of social media in order to
support the educational process in basic education schools in the
Governorate of Muscat in the Sultanate of Oman is attributed to the job
title variable in favor of the category (principal / principal and teacher /
teacher), and there are no statistically significant differences in the school
administration's use of social media in order to support The educational
process is attributed to the variables of years of experience and the level
of skill in using technological applications. As for the most prominent
challenges facing activating the role of the school administration in using
social media in the educational process, it is divided into four areas:
technical challenges, challenges related to parents, challenges related to
school management, and challenges related to the teacher. A number of
proposed mechanisms were presented to activate the role of the school
administration in using social media in the educational process in basic
education schools in Muscat Governorate, Sultanate of Oman.
Based on the previous results, the current study recommended the
development of organized and specific plans and mechanisms that include
laws and legislation for the use of the WhatsApp application in the
educational process in the school, according to what the school deems
appropriate and commensurate with its capabilities and generalization to
the various groups, and work to organize the affairs of teachers and
students through the mechanism of using the WhatsApp application in the
educational process ; Through workshops, seminars or educational
brochures on the importance of the application.
