This study examined the impact of leadership practices (change leadership, leadership empowerment) and organizational factors (accepting change, internal communications) on organizational change in the Ministry of Labour - Sultanate of Oman. The study followed the quantitative methodology and the study population consisted of (2468) employees. Data were collected through the electronic questionnaire using Google forms from a convenient sample of (333) employees and analysed using several descriptive & inferential techniques through the statistical package for the social sciences (SPSS) v23.
The study's results showed a statistically significant positive relationship between leadership practices, organizational factors, and organizational change in the Ministry of Labor. In addition, the results indicated that there is a statistically significant positive effect of leadership practices and organizational factors on organizational change in the Ministry of Labor. It also showed that organizational factors explain a greater proportion of organizational change than that demonstrated by leadership practices.
Considering the study's results, it recommended paying attention to the effectiveness of leadership practices, clarifying the vision and the reasons, the necessity for change and its follow-up to the success of change communication to all employees in the ministry. It also recommended adopting leadership empowerment and working to strengthen it by giving employees confidence in accomplishing their work tasks and encouraging them to develop and solve problems with continuous follow-up. In addition, the study recommended the need to develop leadership practices among managers and enhance their attitudes toward accepting change. It highlights the importance of openness to the changes introduced in job duties, adopting appropriate work methods, strengthening internal communications, and employee participation in information related to essential changes in policies and systems that affect their work.
