Abstract
Introduction
Today's educational institutions are witnessing many rapid developments and changes in their various fields of work, notably the challenges posed by globalization, global competition and the development of information and communication systems. These successive changes have imposed new roles and responsibilities on the staff of various educational institutions, particularly school principals, It was necessary to respond to these developments through the development of school principals with skills and knowledge, and provide them with experiences that help them to improve their level of performance and make them able to adapt to all the latest developments and global changes in the educational system.
• Although the emphasis on the professional development of teachers has a direct role within the school in enriching the educational process of learners, the professional development of school principals is doubly important. The efficiency of the educational process of any educational institution depends primarily on the extent The success of its management, represented in the personality and style of the managing director, and the extent of his understanding and understanding of the correct administrative methods, developments and successive changes in the field of administrative work.
• The Sultanate of Oman is one of the countries that have paid great interest to professional development in general and development of administrative competencies in particular, by activating their leadership and administrative role in providing them with a range of modern management concepts. Through the Educational Development Bulletin issued by the Ministry of Education.
Based on the above mentioned the importance of the professional development of principals of basic education in the Sultanate of Oman. In light of the fact that many educators pointed out that most of the problems facing the basic education schools in Oman are due to the lack of performance of managers, Which is supposed to contribute to the growth of managers professionally, and then represent these programs an opportunity to address the change and development, which imposes the need to employ modern administrative approaches to make this change in order to improve and develop the school management, These include the approaches of TQM, crisis management, e-management
Research problem
In spite of the efforts exerted by the Ministry of Education in the Sultanate of Oman to develop the educational system, raise the level of skills and knowledge of the administrative and educational competencies, and improve the level of their professional and skillful performance in line with the current and successive global developments in various fields, However, professional development programs for principals of basic education schools have not received sufficient attention, Therefore, the problem has been formulated in the present research in the main following question:
How can the professional development of principals of basic education schools in the Sultanate of Oman be promoted in the light of some modern administrative approaches?
This main question ramifies into the following sub-questions:
• What is the intellectual framework for the professional development of school principals?
• What are the most recent administrative approaches in the field of the development of school principals professionally?
• What is the reality of professional development for principals of basic education schools in the Sultanate of Oman?
• What are the challenges facing the professional development of principals of basic education schools in the Sultanate of Oman
• To what extent are statistically significant differences at the level of 0.05 0.05 in respondents' responses to the axes of the field study tool attributable to variables (gender, management experience, scientific qualification, and governorate)?
• What is the proposed perception to raise the level of professional development for the principals of basic education schools in the Sultanate of Oman in light of some modern administrative approaches?
Research Objective
The main aim of the current research is to set a proposed perception to raise the level of professional development for the principals of basic education schools in the Sultanate of Oman in light of some modern administrative approaches.

Professional development of school principals
The current research defines the professional development process as: the process by which school principals are provided with the information, skills and new methods in the administrative work necessary to develop their performance, which makes them able to deal with all the latest developments and changes in the educational system.
Research Methodology and its Tools
In light of the nature of the subject and its aim, the current research uses the descriptive method in view of its appropriateness to the nature of this research and the answering to some of the research questions, the researcher designed a questionnaire addressed to the principals of basic education schools in the Sultanate of Oman in order to identify the reality of their professional development and the challenges they face and how to face them in the light of modern administrative approaches (TQM crisis management, e-management).
The current research resulted in several of the most important results:
• Lack of clear and specific plans for professional development programs for principals of basic education schools in the Sultanate of Oman.
• The existing professional development programs do not depend on the continuous assessment of the training needs of the principals of basic education schools in the Sultanate of Oman.
• Principals of basic education schools in the Sultanate of Oman have no complete background on the importance and objectives of professional development.
• Lack of the use of houses of experience in programs related to professional development in the light of modern administrative approaches.
• The times allocated for the implementation of professional development programs are opposed to working hours.
• Lack of training courses for principals of basic education schools in the Sultanate of Oman in the light of the modern administrative approaches
• Lack of incentives to participate in professional development programs for principals of basic education schools in the Sultanate of Oman.
• Weakness of the methods of following up and evaluating the professional development programs for the principals of basic education schools in the Sultanate of Oman.
• Lack of practice of principals of basic education for self-learning.
