"The mosque in the rural center is considered a collective institution shared by the people of the roundabout, and an essential part of its infrastructure, as it is not just a place of worship or a mosque only; Because it is a space that embraces - in addition to prayer - various functions such as teaching children, washing the dead, and storing drinking water in the dry months. This paper focuses - among the total vital functions undertaken by village mosques - on religious and Quranic education in particular, based on the data of a field research on the desert of Khouribga (central Morocco).
