الملخص الإنجليزي
In the last two years, the Corona pandemic crisis has caused several damages
to nascent SMEs in all over the world and notably in Oman. In an effort to
understand the factors of failure to manage this crisis, many recent researches
have dealt with the management and organizational variables and their
relationship with the crisis management topic , however the entrepreneurial
perspective in its dimension related to the traits of entrepreneurs as a main
driver of the entrepreneurial process as a whole, still needs in-depth studies
attributed to that fresh topic, which is an integral part of risk management in
SME, especially emerging ones. In this context, this study aims to measure the
impact of entrepreneurial alertness and creativity, as two basic entrepreneurial
traits, on the crisis management of the nascent entrepreneurs in the Sultanate
of Oman. Adopting the descriptive analytical approach, a survey was
administrated to 166 owners of SMEs’ owners in A' Sharqiyah Governorate in
the Sultanate of Oman. The results concluded that there is a statistically
significant effect between creativity and entrepreneurial alertness, in one hand,
and the crisis management, on the other hand, among Omani nascent
entrepreneurs who are owners of their SMEs. This research will contribute to
fill the research gap by focusing on the entrepreneurial dimension, from an
individual perspective while joining two important traits that have rarely been
linked to crisis management, which is a capital topic in risk management on
both the managerial and entrepreneurial levels. This research opens multiple
horizons to delve into other topics to understand the way of how to improve
the creativity and the entrepreneurial alertness traits for better risk and crisis
management among the nascent entrepreneurs.
