This research aims to test The Impact of the Benchmarking on the Employees’ Job Performance in Omani Higher Education Institutions. The questionnaire was distributed to some managers, heads of departments, and departments of administrators and technicians by adopting the principle of random sampling.
The descriptive analytical approach was adopted to quantitatively measure this effect in its three dimensions: the functional benchmarking, the strategic benchmarking, and the general benchmarking. From this point of view, a previous literature was examined and a questionnaire was prepared that includes these variables, by formulating 32 questions. Data collection took place by handing over paper and digital copies, hand in hand, and through the respondents' social network. The questionnaire was analyzed using the statistical program spss for data analysis.
This research is characterized by the fact that it combines two variables that are rarely combined in an Arab or Omani study, and we look forward to clarifying the nature of the relationship between them. This research opens new horizons about the importance and how to apply benchmarking in higher education institutions and its role in improving employee job performance.
The results of the research showed that the benchmarking with its dimensions, and its application, has an important impact on improving the performance of employees, and the study summarized some recommendations, the most important of which are: Completing the researcher’s findings and outputs and measuring them in the rest of the higher education institutions in the Sultanate, providing the necessary capabilities to facilitate the application process Benchmarking, providing employees with the results of performance evaluation and feedback from the benchmarking process, providing the necessary information about competitors' performance level.
