In light of the great scientific and technological development that affects various aspects of life, including the public administration, the Omani government is working to improve public services by digitizing the administration and using modern technological means, including the information system.
For this purpose, this study aims to examine the reality of the application of the information system in the ministries and government institutions in the Sultanate of Oman, in particular the government’s Ministry of Labor, as well as to address a deeper understanding of the impact of the application of the information system on the quality of services in its five dimensions (tangibility, reliability, response, safety and empathy).
In order to achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher will use the quantitative approach using the questionnaire technique on a sample of the study population whose size is (2717) male and female employees in the Ministry of Labor in the Sultanate of Oman.
This study reached a set of results for the impact of the application of information systems on the quality of services and the satisfaction of workers in government institutions in the Sultanate of Oman. The most important of them: its high impact on all government institutions in delivering a high-quality service, speed in completing transactions, and ease of access to information and reference to it, whether by the beneficiary or the employee. As well as providing a huge amount of information in a renewed way, and providing websites that serve the employee and the beneficiary in an easy and simplified manner.
