Purpose:
The purpose of this research is to investigate the relationship between authentic
leadership, organizational commitment and employee’s creativity. This study covered public
organizations in the north Sharqyia governorate in the sultanate of Oman.
Approach/ methodology:
Quantitative data was gathered by using online survey which covered public
organizations such as, Ibra hospital, Ministry of Education and Public Authority of Water.
Participants who participated in the survey were 260. Data was analyzed by using SPSS
program.
Results / findings.
This study showed that was a positive relation between the authentic leadership and
organizational commitment, also the relationship between employee’s creativity and authentic
leadership was a significant. In addition, organizational commitment affecting employee’s
creativity in positive way.
Practical implication.
The result of this study can be implemented in the public organizations by using the
positive relationship between the three variables to ensure high level of productivity.
Originality/value.
This study will provide more value to the previous researches that covered public sector
in Oman. The high-quality data that was used in this study will help future researchers to build
their studies on the result of this study to understand the importance of the leadership in general
and authentic leadership in specific along with the affect of organizational commitment on the
employee’s creativity
