This study aimed at identifying the effect of participatory leadership in its fields of authority delegation, participation in decision- making, and human-relations on job performance in the quantitative areas (the actual production level, the quality, time frame for practical performance, and cost) for workers in the health sector in North Sharqiyah Governorate in Sultanate of Oman.
The study adapted the quantitative, descriptive and analytical approach. Questionnaires were used as a data collection instrument as a 26-item questionnaire was distributed to 200 health service workers in the North Sharqiyah Governorate.
The results of the study showed that the implementation of the participatory leadership in its three fields: delegation of authority, participation in decision- making, and human relations among workers in the health sector in the North Sharqiyah Governorate was high and effective. The researcher recommended that health service workers should be informed about that importance of Participatory leadership and its positive practices. In addition, it was recommended that the necessary techniques and material and financial capabilities should be provided so they contribute to activating participatory leadership methods in health institutions. Moreover, it was recommended that participatory leadership policies and procedures should be stated clearly.
