The study aimed to verify the extent to which the Islamic education textbooks for grades (5,6) in the
basic education system in the Sultanate of Oman encompass the concepts outlined in Oman's Vision
2020-2040, focusing on the human and society domain. This was achieved by addressing the
following two questions:
1. To what extent does the content of the Islamic education textbooks for grades (5,6) in the Sultanate
of Oman include the concepts of the human and society domain outlined in Oman's Vision 2020-
2040?
2. How are the concepts related to the human and society domain in Oman's Vision 2020-2040
distributed within the content of the Islamic education textbooks for grades (5,6) in the basic education
system in the Sultanate of Oman?
To answer these two questions, the researcher used the descriptive analytical method. A list of Oman
Vision concepts contained in the Human and Society 2040 axis was prepared, consisting of 25
concepts, distributed over four areas: education, learning, scientific research, and national capabilities,
which includes (9) concepts, health, which includes (3) concepts, and citizenship, identity, heritage,
and national culture, which includes ( 5) Concepts, welfare and social protection, which includes (8)
concepts. The validity of the tool was confirmed by presenting it to a group of 19 arbitrators. The list was then converted into an analysis card, and its reliability coefficient reached (0.88). The study
produced the following results: The field of (education, learning, scientific research, and national
capabilities) ranked first with a rate of 40.05%, followed by the field of (welfare and social protection)
with a rate of 30.79%, followed by the field of (citizenship, identity, heritage, and national culture) with
a rate of 30.79%. 27.90%, and finally the field of (health) by 1.24%. The fifth grade book came in first place in its inclusion of the concepts of the human and society axis mentioned in the Oman Vision
2020-2040, as it received 1,132 repetitions, with a percentage of 50.37%, while the sixth grade book
received 1,115 repetitions, with a percentage of 49.62. %. In light of the findings of the study, the
researcher recommended the necessity of including the concepts of the human and society axis in
Islamic education books by those in charge of the curricula, and paying attention to concepts that are
less available and which were not included in the two Islamic education books in the study population.
