The study aimed to demonstrate the impact of competitiveness on sustainable development in the Sultanate of Oman, by applying the Municipalities Month competition, and to achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher employed the descriptive analytical approach, and he used a questionnaire as a tool for the study. The municipal councils and the heads of the sports teams in them. A random sample of (174) individuals was chosen and the study tool was applied to them. The study came out with several results, the most prominent of which was1- There is a statistically significant effect at a significant level (0.05) of competitiveness in the Municipalities Month competition on sustainable development in the Sultanate of Oman. 2- There is a statistically significant effect at a significant level (0.05) of competitiveness in the Municipalities Month competition on municipal programs in achieving sustainable development In the Sultanate of Oman, 3- There is a statistically significant effect at a significant level (0.05) of competitiveness in the Municipalities Month competition on the participation of civil society and the private sector in the Sultanate of Oman. 4- There is a statistically significant effect at a significant level (0.05) of competitiveness in a month competition Municipalities on the participation of civil society and the private sector in the Sultanate of Oman, 5- There are no statistically significant differences at a significant level (0.05) for competitiveness and sustainable development in the Municipalities Month competition due to the variable of years of experience. 6- There are statistically significant differences at a significant level (0.05) in the averages of the study sample’s estimate of the competitiveness in the municipality month competition due to the variable (municipality), where there are statistically significant differences between the second group (Ibra municipality) and the fourth group (Sinaw municipality), where it reached The significance level (0.013) is less than 0.05. 7- There are statistically significant differences at a significant level (0.05) in the averages of the study sample's estimate of sustainable local development due to the variable (municipality) between the second group (Ibra municipality) and the fourth group (Sinaw municipality), where the level of significance was (0.006) less than Also, there are statistically significant differences between the second group (Ibra municipality) and the third group (Al-Mudhaibi municipality), where the level of significance was (0.036) less than 0.05. The study recommended holding training courses for workers on the importance of competitiveness in achieving sustainable development. Conferences on the importance of sustainable development in the current era and inviting citizens to participate in achieving sustainable development, as well as resuming the Municipalities Month competition and developing it to serve the achievement of sustainable development in the Sultanate.
