The study aimed to know the level of security awareness among students of higher education institutions in the Sultanate of Oman.
The descriptive approach was used to suit the
objectives of the study. To collect data, the researcher developed a questionnaire, and its validity and reliability were confirmed. In its final
form, it consisted of (18) items, and the study
sample consisted of (591) male and female students from higher education institutions.
The results of the study showed that the
level of security awareness among students of
higher education institutions in the Sultanate
of Oman is at a high level. The results of the
study also indicated that the role of educational institutions in enhancing security awareness
is high from the point of view of students of
higher education institutions in the Sultanate
of Oman. The results of the study also showed
that there is no There are statistically significant
differences in the attitudes of the study sample
members regarding the role of educational institutions in enhancing security awareness due
to the variables of the study: gender - university - place of residence - stage of study - academic year.
Considering the results, the study concluded with many recommendations, most notably:
enhancing the high level of security awareness
among students of higher education institutions in the Sultanate of Oman and paying
attention to providing all the capabilities and
needs that contribute to increasing the ability
of higher education institutions in the Sultanate to enhance security awareness among students and seeking the assistance of specialists
in the field. Security: To organize awareness
seminars and lectures on topics related to (educational security, intellectual security, social
security, traffic security, cybersecurity, political
security, economic security, etc.).
