The study aimed to reveal the reality of using artificial intelligence applications in enhancing cybersecurity in the security media at the Royal Oman Police, as well as revealing the presence of statistically significant differences at the significance level (α≥0.05) among members of the study sample regarding the reality of using artificial intelligence applications to enhance cybersecurity, attributed to variables (gender, educational qualification, years of experience, field of work). It also identifies the most important challenges facing this use and comes up with mechanisms and proposals to enhance this use.
The study used the mixed-method approach, where the questionnaire tool was applied to a sample of 114 individuals working in the academic, media, and security media fields, and the interview tool was applied to 20 individuals working in the media and artificial intelligence fields. The study reached results, the most important of which are: The reality of using artificial intelligence applications to enhance cybersecurity was low, according to the opinions of the sample members. There are also statistically significant differences attributed to the gender variable regarding the challenges facing the use of artificial intelligence applications in enhancing cybersecurity, in favor of males. There are also statistically significant differences attributed to the qualification variable regarding the reality of using artificial intelligence applications in enhancing cybersecurity, between "Bachelor's degree and less" and "PhD" in favor of Bachelor's degree and less, and between "Master's" and "PhD" in favor of Master's degree holders. There are also statistically significant differences attributed to the field of work variable with regard only to the challenges facing the use of artificial intelligence applications in enhancing cybersecurity, between "academic" and "media" fields, in favor of media workers.
There were no statistically significant differences in the use of artificial intelligence applications to enhance cybersecurity attributed to the variable of years of experience. The degree of sample members' agreement on the challenges facing the use of artificial intelligence applications in enhancing cybersecurity in the security media at the Royal Oman Police was very high.
The study recommended several recommendations, the most important of which are: increasing interest in employing artificial intelligence applications in security media to enhance cybersecurity by developing a strategic plan with clear objectives and activities for security media work, along with other important recommendations.
