The present study aimed to identify the degree of agile leadership shown by the principals of basic education schools, their relationship to the organizational commitment of teachers in Al Batinah North Governorate of the Sultanate of Oman. To achieve the objectives of the study, the descriptive correlational approach was used. The questionnaire was divided into two sections: agile leadership with (25) items, and the organizational commitment section with (18) items. After verifying the validity and reliability of the questionnaire, it was applied to a sample composed of (522) male and female teachers in basic education schools (the first cycle and the second cycle) in Al Batinah North Governorate in the Sultanate of Oman.
The study found that the degree of agile leadership shown by the principals of the basic education schools in Al Batinah North Governorate of the Sultanate of Oman from the point of view of the teachers was generally high, as was the very high and high degree of practice in all dimensions. The results of the study also showed that there were no statistically significant differences at the level of significance (0.05) as to the degree of agile leadership exercised by the principals of basic education schools in the governorate from the point of view of the teachers attributed to the variables: gender, educational qualification, job title, educational stage, and years of experience.
The results of the study also showed that the level of organizational commitment of teachers in basic education schools in Al Batinah North Governorate of the Sultanate of Oman was very high in their view. The dimensions were ranked as follows: the dimension of normative commitment, the dimension of emotional commitment, at a very high level, followed by the dimension of sustained commitment at a high level. The results of the study also revealed that there were no statistically significant differences at the level of significance (0.05 ≥ α) in teachers' perceptions of the level of organizational commitment among teachers in basic education schools in the Al Batinah North Governorate in the Sultanate of Oman from their point of view that could be attributed to the variables: academic qualification, job title. However, there is a statistically significant difference that can be attributed to the gender variable in the dimension of continuous commitment in favor of females. There are also statistically significant differences attributed to the variable of years of experience in the dimension of standard commitment in favor of experience more than 15 years. Finally, there are statistically significant differences attributed to the variable of the educational stage in the dimension of continuous commitment in favor of the first cycle.
The study concluded that there is a positive and statistically significant correlation between all the dimensions of the agile leadership scale and the dimensions of the organizational commitment scale for teachers in basic education schools in the Al Batinah North Governorate in the Sultanate of Oman. The level of the correlation ranged between medium and high degrees.
The study recommends that the Specialized Institute for Teachers continues to develop training programs that meet the actual training needs of school principals, support the practice of agile leadership dimensions, and contribute to raising the level of their professional competence. The study also recommends continuing the efforts by the school principals to create an atmosphere that encourages and motivates teachers to be creative and innovative.
