The study aimed to explore the relationship between self-disclosure
and social anxiety among university student in the Sultanate of Oman,
considering the following variables: gender, university, major, academic
year, and cumulative GPA. To achieve the study’s objectives the researcher
employed the descriptive correlational method. The sample consisted of
)492( students, including )130( males and )362( females. To gather data, the
researcher used the Self-Disclosure Scale, prepared by Abd Almaqsod
(2021), and the Social Anxiety Scale, prepared by Radwan (2001). The
results indicated that the level of self-disclosure was moderate, with a rate of
(70%) similary, the level of social anxiety was also moderate, at (56%). The
findings revealed no significant relationship between self-disclosure and
social anxiety. Furthermore, there were no statistically significant differences
in self-disclosure based on gender. However, there were statistically
significant differences in social anxiety based on gender, in favor of females.
Additionally, no statistically significant were found in self-disclosure or
social anxiety based on university, major, academic year, or cumulative GPA.
